Mike Roe was born August 16, 1956, in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social & Behavioral Studies. He then attended the South Texas College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor degree in 1983.

Mr. Roe was admitted to practice in the state of Florida in 1983 and in the state of Texas in 1984. Mr. Roe spent the first 6 years of his career as an Assistant District Attorney for the Harris County District Attorney's Office in Houston, Texas, before returning to Tampa in 1989.

Mr. Roe was admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court Southern District of Texas in 1990, the U.S. Supreme Court in 1991, and in the U.S. District Court Middle District of Florida in 1991. He is also an active member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, (Trial Lawyers Section), Florida Bar Association, Houston Bar Association, American Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), and the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
