Chris focuses his practice in the areas of commercial and residential real estate matters including development, leasing, and financing transactions, and corporate, business and securities law matters including general business counseling, mergers and acquisitions, private securities offerings, and venture capital financings.
In his real estate practice, he regularly represents developers, landlords and tenants in real estate development, financing, and leasing matters, and lenders and borrowers in financing and loan transactions. His areas of practice include development projects, mortgage lending, both construction and permanent, purchase and sale transactions, title insurance, restrictive covenants and homeowner associations.
In his business and corporate practice, he regularly represents clients ranging from individuals to small and large private corporations and other business entities in connection with a wide variety of transactions and business activities. Chris serves as outside general counsel to multiple businesses providing general business counseling and handling general corporate law matters. Chris has extensive experience in business formations and representing issuers in venture capital and private equity transactions in a variety of industries, and serving as counsel in merger and acquisition transactions and asset and stock sales.
Chris is a Tampa native and graduate of Jesuit High School. Chris received his law degree from the University of Florida College of Law (J.D., with honors, 1998) and received his undergraduate degree from Emory University (B.A., 1994).
Before forming Brewer Perotti Martinez-Monfort, P.A., Chris was with Foley & Lardner LLP, practicing in the firm's Business Law Department and both its Real Estate Practice Group and Transactional & Securities Practice Group. Prior to that, Chris was an associate with Fowler White Gillen Boggs Villareal & Banker, P.A.
Chris is Board Certified in Real Estate Law by The Florida Bar. He is a member of the Business Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Sections of The Florida Bar and the American Bar Association. He also is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law and Corporate Counsel Sections of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
Chris is an authorized, Level I agent for The Fund and Stewart Title Guaranty Company. In addition, he is admitted in the federal court for the Middle District of Florida, as well as all of Florida's state courts.
In both 2006 and 2007, Chris was recognized as among the best lawyers in the State of Florida as one of Florida's Legal Elite by Florida Trend magazine. Florida Trend recognizes the top 1,170 Florida lawyers who have earned the trust and confidence of those who know their work best; their peers. Chris is active in several civic, charitable and social organizations. He is a parishioner of St. John Greek Orthodox Church and serves on the Parish Council, and is also Chairman of the St. John Greek Orthodox Day School Advisory Board. Chris is a member of the University Club of Tampa. Chris enjoys spending his leisure time with his wife and young daughter, running, cycling and traveling, and is an avid sports fan.
