Intellectual Property Practice

Our intellectual property practice covers all areas, including the selection, development, registration, licensing, enforcement, acquisition and transfer of trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secrets and other proprietary rights, both nationally and internationally. We find that we can effectively and efficiently serve our clients abroad by associating with an established network of foreign intellectual property counsel, where appropriate, in connection with our client's intellectual property rights in other countries.

Examples of our intellectual property practice include:
* Evaluation of the availability of proposed new trademarks, state and federal registration of trademarks, maintenance of trademark registrations, and the enforcement and defense of trademark and trade dress infringement claims.
* Registration of internet domain names, evaluation of domain name conflicts and litigation of such conflicts.
* Registration of copyrights for all types of works with the United States Copyright Office and pursuing and defending claims of copyright infringement.
* Registration of patents for all types of inventions with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and pursuing and defending claims of patent infringement.
* Protection of trade secrets, confidential information and other intellectual property by contract, including preparation of development agreements, transfer agreements, confidentiality agreements and noncompetition agreements, and litigation of claims relating to breaches of such agreements.
* Licenses and assignments of trademarks, patents, trade secrets, computer software and other copyright protected material, including licenses and assignments in business acquisition transactions, and the enforcement of such licenses and assignments.
* Establishment of rights to intellectual property as collateral in commercial transactions, the perfection of security interests in intellectual property and the enforcement of and collection on such security interests.
* Litigation of the full range of intellectual property issues, including claims of infringement of trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, patents and trade secrets, enforcement of rights under licenses and confidentiality agreements, and trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
