Lewis F. Collins, Jr. is a partner in the Tampa office of Butler Pappas. He is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer (The Florida Bar) and a Board Certified Trial Specialist (National Board of Trial Advocacy). Mr. Collins is a Master of the American Inns of Court and has achieved an "AV" rating (Martindale Hubbell).

Mr. Collins practices primarily in the areas of products liability, bad faith, insurance coverage, drug and medical device litigation, wrongful death, personal injury, employment law and professional/D&O liability defense. Mr. Collins was selected as a "Leading Florida Attorney" by Leading American Attorneys (1996-present) and was named a Florida Super Lawyer. He currently serves as President of Lawyers for Civil Justice and is Past President of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. He has also served as the Dean of the Litigation Management College, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Mr. Collins was presented with the Presidential Award of Merit by the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and received an Exceptional Performance Citation from the Defense Research Institute.

Mr. Collins received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida State University (Business) in 1975, and his Juris Doctor from Loyola University in 1978. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle, Northern, and Southern Districts of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Collins is a member of The Florida Bar and the Colorado Bar Association.

Mr. Collins is a frequent lecturer to national audiences on topics including bad faith, trial tactics, litigation management, technology and employment related topics. He has authored numerous articles that have appeared in state and national peer-reviewed publications.

Mr. Collins' achievements include his membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates, Board service as Vice President of Legislative Affairs, Sarasota County Chamber of Commerce, Chairperson of the Board, Family Counseling Center and Chairperson of the Board, Sarasota County Better Business Council. Mr. Collins served as the National Secretary of the Florida State University Alumni Association and as a Campaign Cabinet Member of the United Way.
