Litigation: Appellate Practice
Hill Ward Henderson believes that effective appellate advocacy begins at the trial court level. Our appellate attorneys are often consulted to work hand-in-hand with the firm's litigators as soon as a lawsuit is filed, actively assisting the firm's litigation group in preparing for trial and ensuring that legal issues are preserved for appeal.
The appellate attorneys at Hill Ward Henderson are experienced in handling all types of civil and administrative appeals. Our greatest asset is the diverse expertise of our attorneys. The firm's Appellate Practice Group includes a Florida Board-Certified appellate practitioner, and former law clerks from the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Florida Supreme Court. Our firm has handled appeals before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, the Florida Supreme Court, and all five of Florida's District Courts of Appeal.
In addition to acting as lead appellate counsel, the firm's Appellate Practice Group also provides consulting services to other law firms on a broad range of appellate matters. These services include advising counsel on the intricacies of the appellate rules and procedures and general matters of appellate strategy, as well as editing briefs and narrowing legal issues. Our attorneys also represent organizations wishing to participate in an appeal as amicus curiae.
